Harry Brown (UK 2009)

Synopsis (possible Spoiler): An elderly ex-serviceman and widower looks to avenge his best friend’s murder by doling out his own form of justice.

Raw and brutal. Real? Not sure, but Caine is a pleasure to watch. It’s understated to an extend, less Hollywood, more indy. From the first couple of minutes you know it’ll be a hard movie to go through – well worth it though.

Martyrs (F 2008)

Synopsis (possible Spoiler): A young woman’s quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity

Simply insane! Don’t read up on it, don’t spoil it. It’s a monster. You either love it, or you hate it.
